What is the correct way to brush my teeth?

It is important to brush your teeth twice daily—in the morning and at night. Using a toothbrush with soft bristles and fluoride toothpaste, brush with your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle where your teeth meet the gums. Do not scrub your teeth, as this can scratch your tooth enamel and pull the gums away from your teeth. Instead, press firmly and rock back and forth with circular movements. Brush all surfaces of your teeth, paying careful attention to your back and front teeth. It is also important to brush your tongue from back to front, as this removes plaque and prevents bad breath. Replace your toothbrush every three to four months.

What is the correct way to floss?

Floss at least once a day, moving the floss between your teeth and toward your gums. Gently slide the floss under the gum line by curving the floss around each tooth. Move the floss up and down a few times to scrape the plaque off your teeth.
